Talon,
Your great-grandmother died yesterday morning. I knew her as "Nanno" and she was Grimly's mom, my maternal grandmother. Frances Elizabeth Stuebing was born on February 1, 1915 in Kentucky. She died from heart failure on March 20, 2012 in Dublin, Ohio in her nursing home room with Papaw and Grimly by her side. She was 97 years old. Papaw is my grandfather, your great-grandfather, Grimly's dad, and Nanno's husband.
Nanno was a very lively character. She was about 5'2" with short, curly white hair. I remember she would dance around the house or kitchen with us when we visited her. She always played Candy Land with me. Every so often when I would be a "stink pot" as she called me when I was ornery she'd give me the monster face, roaring and jutting out her bottom teeth.
You met her last Christmas in 2011 when you were 5 months old and she got to hold you. She thought you were the "sweetest little thing".
When I was in 7th grade, I had to interview family members. I interviewed Nanno and Papaw. I remember her telling me she had always wanted to be a pharmacist but she never got the chance. She raised chickens, horses, and pigs growing up on a farm in Kentucky. One of her favorite things to do as a little girl was dress up her pet chicken! She'd put dresses on the chicken! I laugh thinking about a chicken running around wearing a baby doll dress.
You won't remember Nanno but she holds permanent place in our hearts and memories.

so sorry to hear of your grandmother's passing Sarah. But such wonderful heartfelt stories that you have!
