My due date is July 16th. Just a mere 8 days away...
A date of induction is set as well, Monday, July 18th. Punk has 10 days to get his ass on the outside world on his own terms. Otherwise, it's eviction time. My other option is (which I haven't talked to Dr. Super Amy yet about...) asking to not be induced until the 25th...giving him even more time. However, this is a toughie for me. I want to do what's healthiest for both of us (natural being best) but it might just be best to get him out sooner than later considering the possibilities. There's the theory that his head is too big, the placenta can start to calcify...it's a gamble. I admit I do just want him out now. I am hoping this weekend is baby time!
Yesterday, at my 38 week appointment, Amy sent me over to the hospital for monitoring. The levels of protein in my urine were even higher than usual and my BP was on the higher side (140 over something, I forget). I knew if they'd just let me sit there for a few more minutes and chill, my BP would go down. And sure enough, it did....to 120/72. But, I can't argue the protein levels. I was there for about 2 hours total and I got hooked up to the fetal monitors. J-Balls was keeping me company; reading me articles about golf and keeping me hydrated. I had 3 contractions in one hour which I didn't feel at all. Super Baby is incredibly active. I really like the nurses there at LUH. Sue was the one who attended to me.
A phlebotomist came in to draw blood. She asked if the baby was a boy or girl. I said boy and she said something like, "Aw, what happened to the days when we were surprised?" Why'd you ask me then? I am not good with snarky responses in the moment sometimes but Jason and I agreed she should have kept her opinions to herself. I should have said, "Well, your opinion doesn't matter and I didn't ask for it, did I?" The woman had a needle in her hand so Jason and I agreed it was probably best we didn't say anything. :)
In these next 8 days, you can betcha I'm doing everything I can think of to get this kid out of me to avoid induction. (If you have an induction story...SAVE IT....Thanks.)

I was induced all 3 pregnancies no bad stories for you :) I think people exaggerate it! You're going to do great
