You have not been a happy camper lately. We are nearing the time you learn to sleep in a bed like the rest of us. Since we brought you home, you've slept in a Fisher Price Rock n Play Sleeper. It's a bassinet, basically, that is inclined. You hated being on your back as a newborn. Even changing your diaper, you became a crying mess. Eventually you've learned to tolerate the diaper changing. But I think you've just had enough time to figure out you're only there for a few minutes then we pick you back up.
You are 4 1/2 months old now but also about 27 inches long. Your long legs are getting cramped in the bassinet because during the night your butt slides down into the bucket part of the sleeper. There you are; all scrunched up.
Getting you to nap today was nothing short of exhausting. You screamed at me while I searched the Internet for information on transitioning from the RnP to crib. From what I found, it has to happen over a period of time. Ain't no way you gonna quit your snuggly sleeper cold turkey. However, more importantly, we have to wean you off the swaddle. You depend on that for comfort. Times like this I realize that trial and error is the only way to go. It's a fact that compression calms the nervous system. You're only 4 months old....I wonder do I even need to worry about unswaddling you now? You haven't rolled over yet. When you do, we can't swaddle you anymore.
Right now, you are sleeping soundly on your stomach on the couch next to me. I don't know where to start but we gotta start somewhere.
