T-Nuts.

Monday's ultrasound confirmed that Baby Zook is a boy. Hours after experiencing the 20 week ultrasound, that's all I really had to report. The images were burned in my head. His little face. His little feet. Flailing hands. Round little butt. The baby is a boy. Five days later, five days to process, there's no way to describe the feeling as any mother would tell you. I am glad we found out the gender of Baby Zook because I just feel that much more connected to him. I am sharing my body with him and I am absolutely in love.

The stats on Lil Z is he's longer and bigger than an average 20 week old. On Monday, he was 14.3oz when the average 20 week old is 11oz. He measured almost 17 cm when the average is 16cm. My ultrasound tech said he could be a big baby. I was 8lbs, 7oz. J-Balls was 7lbs-something. To quote Jason, "If he's as tall as me and built like you, he's gonna be a big kid." I know what ya'll are thinking..........! I already thought of that too.....We shall see how THAT part goes :)

Yes, we have a name for Baby Z. But for now, it's T-Nuts.

T-Nuts. T-Nuts came from Jason bragging about the fact that his 20 week old fetus son is measuring at 21 1/2 weeks and therefore has 21 1/2 week old genitalia. We came home from the doctor's office and as he's going downstairs to work on a school project he calls out from the basement stairs, "My son, Thundernuts! BAHAHAHHAHAA It'll be J-Balls and T-Nuts! HAHAHAHHA!!" You couldn't help but laugh either. It was quite the moment. And then somehow at dinner on Tuesday night, I became Sesame Ball.

Hi, we're the Zooks. We got balls and nuts.

The ultrasound was cool for every reason a new mother is excited. You get to see that little person inside you and it becomes real. They have a heart, and bones, and if you're lucky you get to see the baby's mouth open, like we did. The baby has organs and arms and a skull and is moving around to much you just simply cannot believe that THAT is living inside you. You can't believe that there is actually enough room for another human in which to be created. You start to realize that all those low blows you were feeling in the exact same spot are little 4cm feet kicking. T-Nuts was positioned with his head under my right rib, facing my left side...aka Breech. He's feet first. Hopefully, T will make the right turn a few weeks before he decides to make his grand entrance...that would be HEAD first, please!

It's interesting how your relationship with your spouse changes too when you get pregnant. Not bad. No, no, no, not bad at all. Things just. Change.

Cheers to the next 4 months until we all meet T-Nuts.
