Tuesday marked the third class of the Childbirth series. We discussed all the medication options as well as C-Sections. I would love to avoid all that if possible. Just my personal choice!
The most fun part was the birth place tour. We got to see where I will be delivering Baby Tron and learned how things will generally go. I wanted to post some pics of the place but didn't bring my camera and can't find any on the internet.
It was a quiet Tuesday night; only 3 rooms occupied. The nurses were nice and attentive. The wall structure curves therefore the hallways looked wavy versus straight and long and sterile. Sconces lit the space with soft light. Modern art and woodwork keeps the place warm. Though every room has a fridge, there are "nutrition stations" in the hallways. Fridges stocked with juices, snacks, drinks, and ice packs for patients to help themselves whenever they want something. You can have food ordered in too if you want though. Once you enter the birth place, you are secured in and free to roam the halls while enduring early stages of labor.
Every room also has a jacuzzi tub! I anticipate maybe using that. I love baths! As far as I can tell now, a warm tub would only ease up the pains of labor. We can bring anything we want to assist us in labor too...fitballs, massage rollers, extra pillows. There's a queen size pull out sleeper bed for Jason but I doubt it will be long enough for his legs! Rooms are relatively large and I felt comfortable shacking up there for a couple days. It really looked more like a nice hotel keeping it as comfy as possible considering the circumstances. Cheers!
EDIT: I forgot about the MASSAGES they give you while you are there too!

In addition to the fitballs, and massage rollers, I expect that you will be wearing your Strike gloves.
ReplyDeletethat is awesome. out of all of the newborns i've gone to go see over the past 5 or so years, the hospitals keep getting nicer and nicer, which is fantastic for the patients, especially new Mom's! plus, i've heard the horrible hospital food, isn't horrible at all! Cheers!
