CHILDBIRTH PREPARATION CLASS
We signed up for a childbirth class where I will be delivering at Longmont Hospital and our first class was this past Tuesday. 3 hours a night for 4 weeks. We go over anatomy of the birth, how to deal with labor, breathing techniques, get to tour the birth center in the 3rd class, just to name a few things.

Jason was hilarious because about 40 minutes into class he starts coloring in the hospital gown and footies on the laboring mothers in the diagrams. He leans over and says, "I'm still listening, I'm just coloring." He says he's not a very good student but hey as long as he's paying attention, I don't mind.

Our instructor is super fun; spunky and knowledgeable. Her name is Darcie, she's a doula, and has a Masters in Exercise Phys. We go around the table, tell everyone our name, due date, boy or girl if we know the gender, one thing we have really enjoyed about pregnancy and one challenge we've encountered. I said I just have really enjoyed BEING pregnant because it took so long to happen. The challenge was that teaching kickboxing and my body just doesn't move the way it used to for the time being. I forgot to mention how annoying decreased lung capacity is too!

I am really enjoying class and especially look forward to the tour. The class makes me feel extra special and am full of anticipation for T's arrival.

ZUMBA!
As of Friday, April 1st, I am a licensed Zumba instructor! The workshop was fabulous; I definitely feel ready to gather materials when I am ready to teach a class. It will take a lot of practice though! I can see how much MORE intimidating it would be for someone who has never even taught group fitness to contemplate teaching a Zumba class. Biggest differences is there's no (or very little) cueing in teaching Zumba. You cue with your body language and eyes. The focus is the music and dancing which means all the participants HAVE to watch the instructor because otherwise you don't know what's coming. Very different than what I'm used to but the dances/music are super fun. I remember getting lost in myself while dancing. That's another advantage of Zumba. Once you learn the routines, you can just let it all go!

I was the only pregnant participant there. It was a long day and my little toes looked like vienna sausages by the end. Shaking my hips and butt (like I know I can!) was a tad awkward and I will admit I felt a little like a dancing hippo. I texted Jason and he wrote back, "Ah but you are my and T's dancing hippo." Thanks Darling :)

APPOINTMENT!
Next week is another OBGYN appointment and the dreaded glucose test! Hopefully I am no where near gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia. Considering my kidney issues, I have to be watchful for symptoms of those.

T-Nuts is moves around pretty much a majority of the day. I am going to have to swaddle and swing that kid around like crazy to keep him content!

Until next time...
