I didn't ever map out the shit we went through over the past 2 years. And really, 2 years, a snapshot in time. My grandmother tried for 7 years before they got my aunt. But just a little "fun" list here of all the drugs I took, all the money and time I spent on ovulation kits, pregnancy tests done in false hope, and procedures all in the name of trying to conceive (TTC) a child.
TTC since January 2009....We just waited month after month. By October, I wondered if something was wrong...so I went in for an HSG.
August 2009: Sperm Analysis= 120 million, 54% Motility, 7% Morphology. Go J-balls.
October 2009: HSG- Test results normal
A hysterosalpingogram (HSG) is an X-ray test that looks at the inside of the uterus and fallopian tubes and the area around them. It often is done for women who are having a hard time becoming pregnant (infertile). During a hysterosalpingogram, a dye (contrast material) is put through a thin tube that is put through the vagina and into the uterus. Because the uterus and the fallopian tubes are hooked together, the dye will flow into the fallopian tubes. Pictures are taken using a steady beam of X-ray (fluoroscopy) as the dye passes through the uterus and fallopian tubes. The pictures can show problems such as an injury or abnormal structure of the uterus or fallopian tubes, or a blockage that would prevent an egg moving through a fallopian tube to the uterus. A blockage also could prevent sperm from moving into a fallopian tube and joining (fertilizing) an egg. A hysterosalpingogram also may find problems on the inside of the uterus that prevent a fertilized egg from attaching (implanting) to the uterine wall.
THIS PROCEDURE FUCKING HURTS!!!
November 2009: Round 1 Clomid: 50mg Cycle Day (CD) 5-9=BFN. BFN= Big Fat Negative on pregnacy tests. Clomid plays tricks on your body. Makes it think it's not producing enough hormones to pump out the eggs so it tricks your body to pump out a ton. I hated this shit. It made me have hot flashes and feel insane.
Clomiphene citrate (Clomid) stimulates the release of hormones that trigger ovulation. Clomiphene is typically the first choice of treatment for unexplained lack of ovulation because of how easy it is to use-it's taken orally rather than injected, doesn't usually cause severe side effects, and doesn't usually require daily monitoring.
December 2009: Round 2 Clomid: 100mg CD 5-9=BFN
January 2010: Round 3 Clomid: 100mg CD3-7= BFN
February 2010: Round 4 Clomid: 150mg CD5-9= BFN
June 2010: Round 5 Clomid for first fertility treatment procedure, (IUI) Intra-Uterine Insemination. As Jason called it, The Turkey Baster Method. This cycle produced 11 eggs with 5 mature ones ready. SHEESH! That's a lot of chickens. Outcome-unsuccessful.
July 2010: DONE. Fed Up, Angry. Done.
October 2010: Started Reiki Energy Therapy...
November 5, 2010: BFP- Big Fat Positive. O' NATURALE! Sometimes I wonder how. Then I don't question it. I can just believe in my Reiki master and the power of my own mind over my body.

I'm kinda glad you didn't hatch 5 chickens (or 11). That would've been ALOT! I think you are right about the Reiki work. We love you!! xoxo, your seester
