I really don't want to be one of those newly pregnant women who will give you a Facebook update every dang minute on their baby's movement. You know the ones where the baby begins to define who they are. Baby is pooping now! Isn't that cute?! Baby is sleeping. So cute. Baby is eating now. Oops spit up! Baby is screaming now. I need a padded room. Like they are ONLY a baby factory? Come on Peeps! I promise to continue to churn out rude commentary on Colorado drivers and whatever else I deem appropriate.
Soooo which leaves me this blog as the perfect platform to give the updates to those who WANT to read about it.
Today was a pretty big doctor's appointment. J-Balls and I headed down to Denver to the Platte River Perinatal Center for a very detailed ultrasound and blood draw to screen for any chromosomal abnormalities. Basically, the doc there is a "high risk OBGYN" however my regular OB sends/refers all her patients there. These detailed tests are becoming more standardized these days.
For the first time, we saw Baby Zookie in 3D! It was the coolest thing ever! From head to rump, Baby Z is about 2.5 inches long. That measurement does not include its legs which were, as they ultrasound nurse said, "Really long." I said to Jason, "That's all you, dude!" (J-Balls is 6'2" with 35" of leg. No kidding.) Me? I'm the long torso with stubby nubs. We saw Baby Z's ears, belly, umbilical cord, and waving arms. It was covering its face with its little arms but was definitely a jumpy little thing. Moving all around! We thought we may have seen what could be the making of a boy but who knows at this point.
All measurements were noted as on track. Cheers to 24 more weeks!

ahhh Sarah....reading your post brought back memories of my ultra sound 18 years ago. There is NO other feeling that compares to the 1st visual of seeing "LITTLE bean size baby JUMPING up and down, waving his arms in the air, & turning summer saults in your tummy!" SO AMAZING! Congratulations again, I TOLD YA' YOU WERE GLOWING! :)
